Leman Louis Northway, 39 of Northwood, completed his journey with glioblastoma on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at his mother’s
house in Manly, surrounded by his family and under the loving care of St. Croix Hospice. Leman left a spray of diamonds
wherever he went and was inspirational to many on his journey.

Services to celebrate his life will be held 2 pm Saturday, November 1, 2025 at Bethel United Methodist Church, 503 South East
Street, Manly, IA with Rev. Cory Allard officiating and Rev. Jani Dahlin from St. Croix Hospice.

Visitation and public viewing will be held from noon until the service at the church.

Following the service, the family will gather at the Northwood VFW, 707 8th St N, Northwood, IA 50459, and continue celebrating
Leman’s Life.

For those attending, Leman’s final request was for you to wear your best Leman attire – colorful, whimsical, something he would
love.

In Lieu of flowers, please direct memorials in Leman’s name to Gray Warriors, 1514 Algonquin Drive, Cedar Falls, IA 50613 in
support of those dealing with GBM or to Camp Kesem IA, 308 East Burlington Street, PMB 139, Iowa City, IA 52240 for children
whose parents have cancer, so they may attend camp.

Leman was born on May 22, 1986 in Mason City, the son of Gary Northway and Patricia “Pat” Evans. He graduated from North
Central High School in 2004 and had lifelong friends from his time there. His love of gardening, sewing and the outdoors were
fostered in his youth with time spent with grandparents and other family members. Leman met the love of his life, Eve Marie
Steele, while working at ACT Component Products in Northwood, IA. He soon expressed to his sister that he had met the girl he
was going to marry and was presenting Eve with her favorite rubber duckies. As they tell it, one day he picked her up, she came to
his house in Kensett, and never left. Leman and Eve were married on May 10, 2008 at Bethel United Methodist Church in Manly.
On January 10, 2011 their lives changed forever as they welcomed their twin sons, Mason Alexander and Simon Charles, into the
world. Throughout the next several years, Leman could often be found making the trek from rural Plymouth to rural Manly to
spend time with his grandparents. He said that the time when the boys were between two and four years old was the happiest
time of their lives. He and the boys spent all their time together working in his garden, having tea with Grandma Northway, and
fishing and river fun with Grandpa Evans. They were three of a kind. Leman LOVED spring and summer – going barefoot, going
on adventures, teaching his mini mes about nature and history, and just having fun. Family outings to Elk Creek Marsh became
one of their favorite activities.

Besides being a stay at home dad, Leman was quite the entrepreneur. He started an ammunition company, as well as a
photography business. His favorite holiday was Labor Day when he enjoyed trips with family to the Renaissance Festival and the
Minnesota State Fair.

In 2016 Leman experienced 3rd Degree burns on his left leg and foot while tending to his garden at his grandmother’s. He was
diagnosed with GBM a year later after experiencing headaches, dizziness, and nausea. Leman at this time was a professional
photographer; his boys would often go with him on bike race shoots. When he learned of his diagnosis he decided his life now
was loving his wife, raising his boys and shooting pictures.

Leman spent time offering support to people who had burns or GBM. He will forever be remembered for his love of his family,
fishing, gardening, unique dress, helping others, trivia and sense of humor.

Leman is survived by his wife, Eve; his beloved boys, Mason and Simon; his sister, Megan; his mom, Pat (Greg) Whitfield; his
dad, Gary Northway; Eve’s mom, Dawn (Carl) Leonard; Eve’s dad, Bill Fredericks; Eve’s brother, Adam (Tenae) Steele and
children, Noelle, Olivia, Makayla, Deven and Domonic; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and those who will
benefit from the GBM trials he has participated in.

Preceding him in death are his grandparents, Glenn Evans, Glenda Berryhill Evans, Wayne and Lois Northway; Eve’s step-mom,
Julie Fredericks; a nephew, Ayden Lee Steele; and many extended family members.
