St. Ansgar punches ticket to state volleyball tournament win regional final win over Coon Rapids-Bayard

ALGONA — St. Ansgar is headed to the state volleyball tournament. The Saints swept Coon Rapids-Bayard in three straight sets in the Class 1A Region 1 championship last night in Algona, with scores of 25-14, 25-19, and 25-12. St. Ansgar improves to 28-4 on the season and will be the top seed in the Class 1A state tournament starting on Tuesday in Coralville. They’ll face East Mills in the 1A quarterfinals at 6:00 PM.
