Albert Lea man pleads not guilty to meth charge after traffic stop in Charles City

CHARLES CITY — An Albert Lea man has pleaded not guilty to a methamphetamine-related charge in Floyd County.
A criminal complaint says at about 2:20 AM on the morning of September 30th, 46-year-old David Nolan was pulled over by law enforcement in the 1200 block of South Main Street in Charles City for a brake light that was not working. During a search of the vehicle, three clear baggies with a white crystal-like substance were found. A field test yielded a positive result of about 12 grams of meth.
Nolan was charged with possession with the intent to manufacture or deliver meth, a Class B felony punishable by up to 25 years in prison.
Nolan pleaded not guilty during an arraignment hearing held on Monday, with District Judge DeDra Schroeder setting his trial for a January 6th start date.
