Belmond woman faces life in prison on human trafficking charge in central Iowa

PERRY — A Belmond woman faces life in prison after being accused of trafficking a teenage girl.
A criminal complaint accuses 41-year-old Amanda Goff of taking a 14-year-old female on January 21st to a hotel in Perry, with the intent to sell the victim into commercial sexual activity. On arrival, Goff allegedly engaged with a person to discuss the price to have the victim engage in sexual activity in a hotel room. The complaint says the victim captured the conversation, which included an agreement on a price.
Goff has been charged with human trafficking a juvenile, a Class A felony punishable by life in prison without the opportunity for parole.
Goff had faced first-degree kidnapping, soliciting commercial sexual activity, pandering of a minor for prostitution, and lascivious acts with a child charges in Sac County, but those charges were dismissed with the new human trafficking charge being filed.
Goff was arrested on Wednesday and is in the Sac County Jail on $750,000 bond. She’s due in court for her preliminary hearing on November 7th.
