CLEAR LAKE ELECTION RESULTS — Ebeling wins Mayor’s race, Nelson beats Brant, Smith narrowly wins re-election to City Council

CLEAR LAKE — Mark Ebeling will be Clear Lake’s next mayor. The current City Councilman won a three-person race for the chance to replace long-time Mayor Nelson Crabb. Ebeling had 689 votes, Brian Foddrill ended up with 534, with Ryan Melhus having 289.

In the race for the City Council At-Large seat, former councilman Tony Nelson beat incumbent Dana Brant by a 744-716 margin.

Bennett Smith narrowly won re-election to his Second Ward council seat. Smith had 236 votes. There were 228 write-in votes, most of which are likely for Andi Tisor, who started a write-in campaign shortly after the filing deadline to be on the ballot. Since the write-ins did not exceed Smith’s vote count, write-ins will be tallied next Monday November 10th.
