High school football quarterfinals — Clear Lake hosts Nevada, St. Ansgar and Osage host games tonight

CLEAR LAKE — Clear Lake hosts Nevada in the Class 3A football quarterfinals tonight at Lions Field. The two teams met in the fourth week of the season in a non-district contest, with Clear Lake winning 21-14, the closest score for the Lions this season.

Clear Lake coach Aaron Stensland says both teams have made progress through the season to make this a different type of matchup.  “It’s a rematch, but it’s a different team. It’s the same team by name and maybe some personnel, but neither us or them are the same team that we were on September 19th. I think it will be a totally different game, a totally different look. We’re obviously playing completely different than we were six or seven weeks ago, and it looks like on film they are doing some different things as well. Same team by name and color and all that, but probably a little bit different game tonight.”
