NIACC’s Hanson places 45th at national cross country meet in snowy Fort Dodge

FORT DODGE – NIACC freshman Hailey Hanson placed 45th on Saturday in the NJCAA Division II women’s 5-kilometer race at snowy Lakeside Municipal Golf Course in Fort Dodge.

Hanson covered the snowy and wet course in a time of 21 minutes, 1 second to help lead the Trojans to a 27th place finish with 680 team points.

NIACC sophomore Bridget Canton was 50th in a time of 21:06. The Trojans’ sophomore Olivia Spurling was 70th in 21:33.

Mesa CC was the NJCAA Divsion II women’s team champion with 54 points. Paradise Valley was second with 87 points and Daytona State College was third with 220 points

Freshman Xander Graeser led the NIACC men’s cross country team Saturday at the NJCAA Division II national championships at snowy and wet Lakeside Municipal Golf Course.

Graeser placed 85th in a time of 28 minutes, 54 seconds in the 8-kilometer race.

Also for the Trojans Saturday at the national meet, Lukas Vance placed 114th in a time of 29:23, Alex Almelien was 232nd (31:56), Nikolli Mosley was 304th (34:14), Kevin Carney was 316th (35:30, Brian Nunez was 325th (36:39) and Alex Moore was 336th (40:02).

Lansing CC was the NJCAA Division II national team champion with 32 points. DMACC was second with 110 points and Paradise Valley was third with 127 points.
