Garner man among three dead in Iowa Falls murder-suicide

IOWA FALLS — A Garner man is among the three who are dead after a murder-suicide in Iowa Falls.
The Iowa Falls Police Department says the Hardin County Dispatch Center received a 9-1-1 call shortly before 4 o’clock on Sunday morning from 1108 Willow Lane in Iowa Falls, with the caller advising there were multiple individuals at that location that were unresponsive.
When officers arrived, three individuals were found inside the residence dead of gunshot wounds. One other person was taken to the hospital with a non-fatal gunshot wound. Iowa Falls police say an investigation has determined that the shooting was the result of a domestic situation isolated to the residence.
Two of those who died were identified as 51-year-old Alan Karalius of Garner and 42-year-old Jessica Bennett of Iowa Falls. The third individual found inside the residence was identified as 45-year-old Shawn Bean of Iowa Falls. It was determined that Bean died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after shooting Karalius, Bennett, and a third person who is not being identified at this time. The unidentified person is expected to survive their gunshot wounds.
