NIACC’s Spotts named Iowa Community College Athletic Conference Player of the Week, Trojans now ranked 15th

MASON CITY — NIACC sophomore guard Reggi Spotts has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference Division II Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for her play last week.

The Mason City High alum shares the weekly honor with DMACC freshman Alivia Carr.

It’s the second time Spotts has been named the Player of the Week, as she won the honor in her freshman campaign for the week of December 9th through the 15th.

Spotts helped NIACC to two wins this past weekend at the Lake Region State College Classic in Devils Lake North Dakota. She scored a career-high 29 points in a 73-56 win over Lake Region State College and then scored 20 points in a 71-67 win over Williston State College.

Spotts is averaging 19.8 points per game, which ranks third in the conference, and it also tied for third in the conference in three-pointers and steals.

NIACC this week moved up to #15 in the NJCAA Division II women’s basketball poll after being ranked #17 in the pre-season rankings.

The Trojans this weekend play at the Kirkwood Classic in Cedar Rapids, facing Bryant & Straton on Friday and the Mount Mercy JV on Saturday.
