Mason City High news — Rood heading into high school baseball Hall of Fame — Trask, Reuter tabbed to coach all-star teams

MASON CITY — Three of Mason City High School’s head coaches are being honored, one heading into the state’s high school baseball hall of fame, with the other two being named to coach all-star teams:

 

== Head baseball coach Troy Rood was recently selected for induction into the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame. Rood has coached at Mason City High School since 1995, being the head baseball coach for the last 25 years.  

 

== Head football coach Josh Reuter has been named to join the coaching staff for the Iowa Shrine Bowl game next summer. Reuter has been coaching for 18 years, 12 of those in the Mason City Community School District. He has been the head coach of the Riverhawks since 2023. 

 

== Head boys basketball coach Nick Trask has been selected to coach one of the teams at the 2026 Pizza Ranch Iowa Basketball Coaches Association all-star games. Trask will help lead the Northeast team against three other teams from around the state. Trask has coached basketball for 23 years, 21 of those at Mason City High School, being the head of the boys program for 12 years.
