Railroad crossing repairs scheduled for South Monroe in Mason City starting on Wednesday

MASON CITY — Motorists who typically use South Monroe Avenue in Mason City will need to be aware of the road being temporarily closed starting on Wednesday for a railroad crossing improvement.
The City of Mason City says South Monroe Avenue will be closed to traffic between the two 15th Street Southwest intersections. The closure is necessary for the Union Pacific Railroad to replace the rail crossing and for a city-hired contractor to mill and resurface the approach pavement adjacent to the crossing.
The closure is expected to last for three days.
