Accumulating Snow Expected Across Iowa Saturday Into Sunday

A weekend weather system is expected to bring accumulating snowfall to much of Iowa beginning Saturday afternoon and continuing into early Sunday morning.
Forecasters say the heaviest snow is likely across northern Iowa, where totals are expected to reach between three and six inches. Areas farther south are also likely to see snowfall, though amounts should be lighter.
The timing of the system may lead to travel impacts across the region, especially Saturday night into early Sunday. Drivers are encouraged to monitor road conditions and allow extra time if they plan to be on the roads.
WeatherIowa will continue to provide updates as the system approaches.
