A student-led winter donation drive is underway in Mason City, with iJAG and Riverhawkmania collecting cold-weather items and holiday gifts to help local families this season.
Organizers say they’re looking for new or gently used winter gear for both adults and children, including coats, hats, gloves, mittens, scarves, snow pants, and boots. Donations of toys or presents are also welcome, along with gift cards for families and monetary contributions that will go toward holiday gifts.
The drive is being led by students as a way to give back to a community that has long supported the iJAG program. Coordinators say any contribution—whether clothing, gifts, or cash—will help make the holiday season brighter for neighbors in need.
Items collected through the drive will be distributed during a community handout event on December 22nd at Hy-Vee East, running from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Organizers emphasize the handout will be “no questions asked,” making it easy and welcoming for families to receive support.
