Winnebago County Historical Society Invites Public to Christmas on Clark and Heritage Park Service

Forest City is keeping the Christmas spirit rolling this weekend with several holiday events hosted by the Winnebago County Historical Society and Heritage Park.

On Saturday, residents are invited downtown for Christmas on Clark, along with the Festival of Trees at the Mansion Museum. The Mansion Museum will be open both Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m., offering visitors a festive look at “125 years of Christmases” in the historic family home of Banker Charlie Thompson, located north of the post office. Organizers say the weekend highlights holiday traditions across generations, with seasonal décor and displays throughout the Mansion.

Also on Saturday, the community is encouraged to gather for a special Candlelight Service at the 1890 Beaver Creek Country Church in Heritage Park. The service begins at 4 p.m. and is designed to evoke Christmas nostalgia, with the church decorated to reflect holidays “just like you used to know.”

The Albertson Family will provide the music, followed by a Christmas message from Paul Walberg. The evening concludes with a warm soup supper, featuring a variety of options for attendees.

The Winnebago County Historical Society and Heritage Park extend holiday greetings to the community and invite everyone to take part in the weekend’s events.

Merry Christmas from the Winnebago County Historical Society and Heritage Park!
