City of Mason City Offices Closed January 1 for New Year’s Holiday; Sanitation Schedule Adjusted

MASON CITY — City of Mason City offices will be closed on Thursday, January 1, 2026, in observance of the New Year’s holiday.

City sanitation services will not be collected on Thursday, January 1. Residents who normally receive garbage, yard waste, and recycling collection on Thursdays are asked to note a schedule change.

The make-up collection day for Thursday routes will be Wednesday, December 31, 2025. Residents are encouraged to have their carts placed at the curb by the usual collection time on that day.

Regular city services and office hours will resume following the holiday.
