With the resignation of Mark Ebeling from the city council, a seat on the council has now become available. Ebeling will become the Mayor of Clear Lake at the beginning of the year. The council is now accepting applications for the council seat, but there are some requirements that need to be met first. Applicants must live in Ward 1 and be available for council and assigned committee meetings.
The council will review the applications and then come to an agreement of the selection process. The City Clerk is asking that all applications be submitted by January 16th. If chosen to be the next councilmember, they will serve until the next regular city election.
City officials are encouraging any interested candidate from Ward 1 to apply at the Clear Lake City Clerk’s Office.
