Our electronic devices incorporate some form of Artificial Intelligence (AI). While it is beneficial in many cases, there are issues that could even affect area youth. The Garner City Council heard from John Steenblock about the effects of AI in a recent council meeting according to Garner Mayor Tim Schmidt.
Some safeguards have been put in place, but issues remain and Schmidt said they learned a lot.
Steenblock explained how children are some of the most vulnerable especially since they spend so much time on their phones and other devices. Some youth become isolated individuals utilizing electronic devices as a lone means of communication which can make them even more vulnerable.
Schmidt explained that the council learned a number of things from the presentation.
