Woman Arrested After Incident Forces Mason City Casey’s to Close

A Mason City woman has been arrested in connection with an incident that forced a local convenience store to temporarily close its doors.
Court records show Cheri Decker, 32, of Mason City, was taken into custody Tuesday on an outstanding warrant for first-degree criminal mischief and assault causing bodily injury or mental illness.
According to law enforcement, the incident happened around 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 19, 2025, at the Casey’s General Store in the 800 block of North Federal Avenue. Court documents allege Decker entered the store nude and covered in blood, then knocked over a shelving unit, broke glass bottles, threw items at employees, and contaminated multiple store items with blood.
Documents further state Decker slapped a man in the face, breaking his glasses and causing a small cut. Investigators say the victim later went to the hospital to be evaluated.
Police reported there was so much blood inside the store that it had to close until a professional cleaning crew could be brought in, with an estimated cost of up to $10,000.
Decker is being held in the Cerro Gordo County Jail on a $6,000 bond.
