1st Ward City Council Seat Open; Special Election Set for February 24

Residents of Mason City’s 1st Ward have a timely opportunity to step into local leadership.
A vacancy on the Mason City Council must be filled following Mayor John Lee’s departure from the 1st Ward seat, prompting a special election later this winter.
Residents interested in running for the open position must file nomination papers with the Cerro Gordo County Auditor’s Office no later than January 30.
The special election will be held on Tuesday, February 24, giving 1st Ward voters the chance to select their next representative on the City Council.
