Community Rallies to Support David and Aimee Lee During Cancer Fight

MASON CITY, Iowa — Friends, family and community members are coming together Monday night to support David and Aimee Lee as they face the challenges of late-stage pancreatic cancer.
A benefit event will be held tonight from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Brix Wine & Whiskey, located at 28 E. State Street, with live music provided by The Hats. Organizers say the evening is about more than fundraising — it’s about surrounding the Lees with care, encouragement and community during an incredibly difficult time.
Proceeds from the event will help offset ongoing expenses such as hotel stays, parking fees, meals and other daily costs associated with medical treatment and travel. Supporters say these financial burdens continue to grow, even when work is no longer possible.
“Our goal is simple,” organizers shared. “We want Aimee to be able to spend as much time with David as possible, without the constant stress of mounting bills. The expenses don’t stop just because life gets harder.”
Nearly 200 people have already responded in support of the event, highlighting the strong community backing behind the couple.
For those unable to attend in person, donations can still be made through an online fundraiser at

Organizers encourage anyone who can to stop by Brix, enjoy live music, and show support for David and Aimee during this deeply personal and challenging journey.
