Clear Lake Rotary donates $1,000 to Lion’s Lunchbox Endowment

CLEAR LAKE — The Clear Lake Rotary Club has made a $1,000 donation to support the Lion’s Lunchbox Endowment, a student-led initiative aimed at eliminating lunch debt for Clear Lake students now and into the future.

The Lion’s Lunchbox Endowment was launched last school year by Clear Lake High School’s National Honor Society. The long-term goal of the project is to build a $25,000 endowment, with interest earnings used to pay off student lunch debt so that every student can access a warm meal without added stress on families.

Thanks to continued community generosity, the endowment has steadily moved closer to its fundraising goal. Rotary leaders said the donation reflects the organization’s commitment to supporting students and strengthening the local community.

“This project is a powerful example of how community generosity can create a lasting impact,” Rotary representatives said, noting that the endowment will benefit students for generations once fully funded.

Community members who wish to contribute can make tax-deductible donations by check payable to the Clear Lake Community School District, with “Lion’s Lunchbox” noted in the memo line. Checks can be mailed or delivered to Clear Lake High School, 125 N. 20th St., Clear Lake.

Rotary members also thanked the National Honor Society students and local supporters who have helped move the project forward, emphasizing that partnerships like this help ensure all students are supported and cared for.
