North Iowa Battle of the Badges Returns to Mason City in 2026

MASON CITY — First responders will trade their uniforms for skates next spring as the North Iowa Battle of the Badges returns to the ice in Mason City.
The annual charity hockey event is scheduled for Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 7 p.m. at the Mason City Arena. The game will feature members of the Mason City Fire Department and Mason City Police Department competing head-to-head in a fast-paced matchup for a good cause.
Firefighters, paramedics, EMTs and law enforcement officers will face off on the ice to raise money for Make-A-Wish North Iowa, which supports families and children with critical illnesses across the region.
Organizers say the event offers a night of high-energy entertainment while giving the community an opportunity to support local first responders and a meaningful charitable mission.
The North Iowa Battle of the Badges has become a popular community tradition, drawing families, hockey fans and supporters of Make-A-Wish alike.
Additional event details, including ticket information, are expected to be released closer to the game date.
