No. 19 Iowa State Falls at Oklahoma State

STILLWATER, Okla. — No. 19 Iowa State saw its losing streak extend to five games Sunday afternoon, falling 86-58 to Oklahoma State in Big 12 women’s basketball action.
The Cyclones dropped to 14-5 overall and 2-5 in conference play, while the Cowgirls improved to 15-4 and 4-2 in the league.
Oklahoma State, ranked fourth nationally in three-pointers per game, connected on 14 shots from beyond the arc. Stailee Heard powered the Cowgirls with a triple-double, finishing with 18 points, 17 rebounds and 10 assists.
Iowa State was led by Jada Williams and Audi Crooks, who scored 15 points apiece. Crooks reached double figures for the 85th consecutive game, the longest active streak in NCAA women’s basketball.
The Cyclones scored first, but Oklahoma State answered with an early 7-2 run. Iowa State pulled within one before the Cowgirls hit a late three-pointer to take a 13-8 lead after the first quarter.
Oklahoma State seized control in the second quarter, using a 13-0 run highlighted by multiple three-pointers to open a commanding advantage. The Cowgirls built their lead to more than 20 points and took a 43-21 edge into halftime.
Crooks scored twice early in the third quarter, but Oklahoma State maintained its momentum. Sydney Harris knocked down Iowa State’s first three-pointer of the game midway through the period, and Williams followed with a jumper, but the Cowgirls closed the quarter on a 15-0 run to extend the lead to 66-35.
Iowa State opened the fourth quarter with back-to-back baskets by Williams, forcing an Oklahoma State timeout, but the Cowgirls remained firmly in control and closed out the 28-point victory.
Iowa State will return home Wednesday, Jan. 21, to host Cincinnati at Hilton Coliseum. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., with streaming coverage available on ESPN+.
