National Weather Service to Host Free Storm Anxiety Webinar

For those who experience nervousness or anxiety when hazardous weather is forecast or occurring, help is just a click away. Local National Weather Service offices are inviting the public to attend a free Storm Anxiety Webinar and Q&A session later this month.
The online event, titled “Don’t Be Scared, Be Prepared!”, will take place at 6:00 p.m. CST on Tuesday, January 21, 2026, and will be hosted virtually through GoToWebinar. The webinar is open to all ages and is designed for anyone who feels uneasy about severe or hazardous weather.
The approximately 45-minute presentation will focus on understanding weather uncertainties, coping with weather-related fears, and learning how to prepare effectively. Following the presentation, a 30-minute live Q&A session will allow participants to ask questions and hear directly from National Weather Service experts.
Organizers say the goal is to help people feel more informed, confident, and prepared when facing weather threats, while also highlighting the tools and resources available through the National Weather Service.
Registration for the webinar is free, but advance sign-up is required to attend. Those interested can register online at:
