OSAGE — Outdoor enthusiasts of all ages are invited to attend the Deer and Turkey Outdoor Show on Friday, March 14, at the Milton R. Owen Nature Center, located just west of Osage at 1879-3 Highway 9.
Doors open at 9 a.m., kicking off a full day of family-friendly activities, outdoor education, and conservation-focused demonstrations. The event runs until 4 p.m. and is designed to bring together hunters, nature lovers, and the local community.
Scheduled activities include an archery contest running from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., along with kids’ shed antler hunts at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. A taxidermy demonstration is planned for 11 a.m., followed by a Hide & Seek Deer Recovery demonstration featuring a blood-tracking dog at 1:30 p.m. A raffle drawing will be held at 3:30 p.m. to close out the day.
In addition to demonstrations, the event will feature a wide range of outdoor-related vendors showcasing gear, services, and conservation efforts. Official scorers will be on site to evaluate deer mounts, and attendees are encouraged to bring wildlife mounts from home. Any displayed mount will earn the owner a raffle ticket and a chance to win prizes.
A food truck will be available from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and organizers say there will be numerous raffle prizes and silent auction items for all ages. Winners do not need to be present to claim prizes.
Organizers encourage attendees to arrive early and plan to spend the day enjoying all the Nature Center has to offer.
