City Park Skating Rink Nearly Ready, Officials Ask Public to Stay Off Ice
CLEAR LAKE, IA — The City of Clear Lake’s newest winter attraction is nearly complete, but officials say it needs a little more time before welcoming skaters.
The City of Clear Lake Parks and Recreation Department announced that the brand-new modular skating rink at City Park is almost ready for use, but is not yet open to the public. Residents are asked to stay off the ice until an official announcement is made outlining hours of operation, park guidelines, and additional details.
Parks officials say protecting the ice during the final stages is critical to ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience once the rink officially opens.
A sneak peek of the new rink was recently shared by the department, with the photo credited to Parks staff member Brayden Foster. Foster captured the image while working late to protect the ice and care for the rink as preparations continue.
The modular skating rink will serve as a new seasonal amenity at City Park, offering residents and visitors another way to enjoy outdoor recreation during the winter months.
Officials say an official opening announcement is coming soon and encourage the public to stay tuned for updates.
