Chamber Announces Theme for 87th North Iowa Band Festival

MASON CITY, IA — The North Iowa Band Festival Committee has announced the theme for the 87th annual North Iowa Band Festival, unveiling “Bands, Birthdays, and Brass” as the official celebration concept for this year’s event.
Festival organizers say the theme reflects the heart and history of the longtime summer tradition, honoring the marching bands of past and present that have left a lasting imprint on the region, as well as the individuals whose creativity and dedication continue to move communities forward.
“Bands, Birthdays, and Brass” also pays tribute to meaningful milestones worth celebrating — from personal achievements to shared cultural moments. Among the most significant is the nation’s birthday, serving as a reminder of the perseverance, creativity, and shared history that shape America. Festival leaders say the theme encourages attendees to reflect on the past while looking ahead with gratitude and optimism.
The four-day festival will feature live entertainment showcasing outstanding Iowa musicians, along with a variety of family-friendly attractions. In addition to performances, festivalgoers can expect a lively carnival, food trucks offering a wide range of flavors, and a marketplace highlighting Iowa-made goods.
All of the festivities will come together under the big Iowa sky, blending bold brass sounds, hometown pride, and time-honored traditions into what organizers describe as a true symphony of celebration.
“Come for the music. Stay for the memories,” organizers said. “The 87th North Iowa Band Festival is sure to be unforgettable.”
