Fort Dodge Man Sentenced to 25 Years in Federal Prison for Meth Conspiracy

A Fort Dodge man has been sentenced to 25 years in federal prison for his role in a methamphetamine distribution conspiracy.

Aaron StandsAndLooksBack, also known as Aaron Woodman, 42, was sentenced Jan. 29, 2026, to 300 months in prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. The plea was entered June 4, 2025, in federal court in Sioux City.

According to evidence presented at plea and sentencing hearings, investigators say StandsAndLooksBack and others conspired to distribute at least 45 kilograms of methamphetamine between December 2020 and December 2023. Court records indicate he obtained meth by purchasing it or stealing it from sources, then distributing it to others.

StandsAndLooksBack admitted he stole significant amounts of methamphetamine from his mother — who was also sentenced to federal prison for meth trafficking — and re-distributed it in the Fort Dodge area.

U.S. District Court Judge Leonard T. Strand sentenced him to 300 months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release. Federal sentences do not include parole. He remains in custody while awaiting transport to a federal prison.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Shawn S. Wehde and investigated by the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, Fort Dodge Police Department, Webster County Sheriff’s Office, Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, and the Iowa DCI Laboratory.
