NIACC Women Stay No. 9 in Latest NJCAA Division II Poll

MASON CITY — For the third consecutive week, the NIACC women’s basketball team held steady at No. 9 in the NJCAA Division II national poll released Monday.

The Trojans improved to 21-2 overall and 15-2 in the ICCAC after defeating Iowa Western 68-60 on Saturday. The win was NIACC’s 11th straight, keeping the team among the nation’s top programs as the regular season continues.

NIACC has appeared in all 13 national polls so far during the 2025-26 season, including a recent stretch of three straight weeks at No. 9 following rankings on Jan. 27 and Feb. 2.

There was limited movement in this week’s top 10. The only change involved Illinois Central and Parkland College swapping spots. Illinois Central (22-3) moved up to No. 5 after an 83-78 win over Parkland, which slipped to No. 8.

Among other Iowa teams in the rankings, Kirkwood is listed at No. 7. Iowa Lakes dropped out of the poll following losses to Ellsworth (71-61) and DMACC (68-63).

NIACC returns to action Wednesday with an ICCAC road game at DMACC in Boone. The Bears enter the matchup at 19-6 overall and 11-6 in league play, riding a six-game winning streak. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
