Parade Entries Now Open for 87th Annual North Iowa Band Festival

MASON CITY — Organizers are inviting the community to start thinking about warmer days and festive celebrations as parade entries officially open for the 87th North Iowa Band Festival.

The annual parade is set for Saturday, May 23 at 10 a.m., bringing marching bands, floats, businesses and community groups together for one of North Iowa’s most anticipated traditions.

This year’s theme, “Bands, Birthdays, and Brass,” celebrates milestones of all kinds — from musical achievements to community anniversaries — with plenty of sparkle and sound.

Parade participants are encouraged to decorate their entries in creative and celebratory ways that reflect the theme. Organizers suggest incorporating musical flair, birthday-inspired fun, shining brass elements and tributes to community milestones.

The entry that best captures the spirit and creativity of this year’s theme will receive the prestigious Grand Marshal Award.
