Catherine “Cathie” Lorraine (Tobin) (Blickenderfer) Randall, the daughter of Chester and Gertrude (Short) Tobin, was born September 17, 1937, in Charles City. She received her education at Immaculate Conception Catholic School and graduated from I.C. High School in 1955.

Cathie was united in marriage to Roger Blickenderfer on August 3, 1957.  This union was blessed with four children: Mike, Steve, Lori and Dennis. She was a very busy stay at home mother raising four active children.  Cathie loved watching them participate in all of their activities while in school and was so proud of all they accomplished in life.

Cathie married Eldon Randall on April 28, 1990.  They enjoyed fishing and playing cards with family and friends. The couple wintered in Sothern Texas for many years and loved meeting new friends and playing shuffleboard (Cathie was always winning trophies too). Cathie loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and fun weekends with her sister.

Cathie was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, she played on a bowling league for many years, loved going to the casino (she was usually very lucky) and going on shopping trips with her daughter.  Cathie treasured family time…always!

Living family members include her four children: Mike (Jeanene) Blickenderfer, Steve (Diane) Blickenderfer, Lori (Steve) Mathre and Dennis Blickenderfer; 11 grandkids: Brandi (Brian) Rowland, Jason (Megan) Blickenderfer, Matt (Katie) Blickenderfer, Roger (Sarah) Blickenderfer, Jenny Uhlenhopp, Jessi (Robert) Syverson, Kelly Riggs, Steven Littleton, Blake (Taylor) Blickenderfer, Erika (Logan) Vietze and Bailey (Chris) Hett; 22 great-grandkids (with one on the way); sister, Sharon (Jim) Weigel; two brothers: Larry (Jean) Tobin and Chuck (JoAnn) Tobin; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.

Cathie was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Gertrude Tobin; first husband, Roger Blickenderfer; second husband, Eldon Randall; four brothers: Roger, Jimmy, Terry and Dick Tobin; and grandson, Justin Blickenderfer.

Chris Berg

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City, which basically means he’s been corn‑fed and radio‑bred since day one. As a kid, he was always caught singing along to the radio — and while he’ll tell you he’s great at karaoke, let’s just say the audience’s ears often file a noise complaint. When he’s not busy butchering ‘80s power ballads, Chris enjoys starting overly ambitious home projects that rarely make it past the “great idea” stage. He lives in Charles City with his endlessly patient wife Vicki and their kids, Brynlee and Jaxon, who have already perfected the art of the eye‑roll every time Dad cracks another “dad joke.”
