North Iowa Children’s Museum Purchases Land for Future Home in Clear Lake

CLEAR LAKE, Iowa — The North Iowa Children’s Museum has reached a major milestone in its journey toward a permanent home, announcing the purchase of land in Clear Lake where the future museum will be built.

The organization recently acquired property at 2405 15th Ave. N, marking a significant step forward after years of planning and community support aimed at bringing a dedicated children’s museum to the region.

Leaders with the museum say the land purchase transforms a long-held vision into tangible progress.

“For the first time, our vision has a place to call home,” the organization said in an announcement celebrating the milestone.

The future site offers several advantages for families and visitors, including high visibility from Interstate 35, convenient access, and close proximity to nearby restaurants and retail. The location also provides room for the museum to expand in the years ahead.

Plans for the museum center on creating a space designed specifically for children to learn through play. The facility is expected to feature hands-on exhibits and interactive experiences aimed at encouraging creativity, exploration and discovery.
