Delaware Avenue Access to Southbridge Mall to Close for Seven Weeks

MASON CITY, Iowa — Access to Southbridge Mall from the Delaware Avenue intersection will close to through traffic beginning Monday, March 16, according to the Mason City Engineering Department.

The closure is expected to last approximately seven weeks and is required to allow crews to complete underground utility improvements and paving connected to the Home2 Suites project.

During the closure, motorists will not be able to enter the Southbridge Mall parking lot from Delaware Avenue. However, access to the mall and the Mason City Arena parking lot will remain open from South Washington Avenue.

City officials encourage drivers to plan ahead and use alternate routes when traveling in the area during the construction period.
