Women United Luncheon Set for April 28 in Mason City

MASON CITY, IA — The United Way of North Central Iowa is inviting the community to attend its annual Women United Luncheon, an event focused on community impact, connection, and support for local educators.

The luncheon will take place on Tuesday, April 28, at the Muse-Norris Center, located at 500 College Drive in Mason City. The event will begin at 12:00 p.m.

Organizers say the event offers attendees an opportunity to learn more about the mission of Women United and how individuals can make a meaningful difference in their communities. The luncheon will also feature guest speaker Rachel McGuire, Ph.D.

As part of this year’s event, Women United is organizing a donation drive to assemble “Teacher Survivor Kits,” small care packages designed to support and encourage local teachers. The kits will be put together during a volunteer event in June and distributed to educators throughout the area.

Those attending the luncheon are encouraged to bring items to contribute to the kits. Suggested donations include small bottles of Tylenol or Advil, mints or gum, glue sticks, travel-size tissues, Band-Aids, Post-it notes, dry erase markers, and individually packaged snacks.

The luncheon is free for Women United members, while nonmembers can attend for $10.

Organizers say the event is designed to be both inspiring and impactful, bringing together community members to support education and recognize the role of teachers in North Iowa.
