Applications Open for POET Bioprocessing – Hanlontown Community Impact Grants

HANLONTOWN, Iowa (April 2, 2026) — Applications are now open for POET Bioprocessing – Hanlontown’s annual Community Impact Grants, offering funding opportunities for projects aimed at improving the quality of life across the local community.
Each year, POET selects a variety of initiatives that provide meaningful benefits to area residents. The one-time grants are available to support local nonprofits, schools, churches, environmentally focused groups, and individuals with community-centered projects.
“Investing in your community is so important, and it’s clear that we have no shortage of people willing to do that here,” said Ben Arentson, General Manager of POET Bioprocessing – Hanlontown. “POET is proud to help move some of these great projects forward.”
In 2025, grant funding supported several impactful projects throughout the region. Forest City Fire & Rescue received funding to purchase a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) fill containment cabinet, allowing crews to refill air cylinders on scene during emergencies. The Winnebago County Attorney’s Office used grant funds to expand its Body Safety Program, which focuses on education and abuse prevention. Additionally, the Outdoor Sports Training Center was awarded funding to purchase tables and chairs for its new clubhouse.
The 2026 application period is open now through May 15. Those interested in applying or learning more about the program can visit poet.com/grants.
Community members are encouraged to submit projects that make a lasting, positive impact—continuing a tradition of local investment and collaboration.
