Chad Dirks

Chad A. Dirks, age 52 of Belmond passed away Wednesday April 1, 2026, at his home. Public  Visitation will be Sunday, April 12, 2026 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Andrews Funeral Homes 516 1^st ST SE Belmond, Iowa.  A public memorial/celebration service will follow at 4:00 p.m. also at Andrews Funeral Home, Belmond.  Chad will be buried in the Belmond Cemetery.

Chad the son of Mark and Jolene Dirks was born December 27, 1973 in Belmond, Iowa.  He grew up in Goodell and later Belmond where he attended school.  Chad graduated from Belmond-Klemme High School in 1992.  After high school he attended Waldorf College in Forest City, Iowa.

Chad was united in marriage to Lesley Freund on September 2, 2007.  The couple made their home on the farm in Belmond where he worked for K&R Construction for 25 years and then started working at Wright Materials.

He enjoyed helping others immensely.  He went bowling with family and enjoyed kayaking.  Chad also enjoyed helping with fireworks and all involved.  Chad loved a good campfire, if there was one to be found he was there.  Being with family sharing conversations and a good story was very important to him.

When he took over riding the Organ Donor Bike from his Grandpa Merlin, he was honored to be able to do that.  The tradition will be carried on by his daughter, Brooklyn.

Chad was greeted at the Pearly Gates by many family and friends.  More than he liked to count, but he remembered and cherished all of them.  People he left to fight the good fight and to cherish his memory; wife Lesley, daughter Brooklyn, mother Jolene and many family and friends who we will appreciate more than they will ever know.   Memorials and expressions of sympathy may be directed in care of Chad’s Family, 1835 100^th Street, Belmond, IA 50421.
