Hundreds of Dogs to Compete in Mason City Kennel Club Show This Weekend

MASON CITY, IA — The Mason City Kennel Club, Inc. is set to welcome dog lovers from across North America as it hosts its annual two-day American Kennel Club (AKC) All-Breed Dog Shows, Obedience Trials, and Rally Obedience Trials on April 18–19, 2026.
The event will take place at the North Iowa Events Center, located on Highway 122 West in Mason City, running from 8:30 a.m. to approximately 5:00 p.m. each day.
More than 600 dogs are expected to compete, drawing participants from throughout the United States and Canada. The event will showcase a wide variety of canine talent, with entries representing over 200 breeds recognized by the American Kennel Club.
Activities will be held primarily in the All Seasons Building, while grooming for participating dogs will take place in the Olson Building. Organizers note that only dogs entered in the competition will be permitted on the show grounds.
The event is open to the public, with admission set at $2. Children under the age of 12 will be admitted free of charge.
The annual show offers a chance for attendees to see top-tier dogs up close while experiencing a range of competitions highlighting obedience, agility, and breed standards.
