Ronald “Ronnie” E. Schriever, 78, formerly of Marble Rock, Iowa, passed away, Thursday, April 30, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Private family services will take place at a later date.
Ronnie was born August 11, 1947, in Charles City, Iowa, the son of Benjamin and Genevieve (Kornegor) Schriever. He received his education in the Rudd Rockford and Marble Rock School System.
On December 11, 1964, Ronnie was united in marriage to Bonnie Harris. Together they were blessed with three children: Todd, Troy, and Rhonda. Ronnie dedicated his life to his family and took great pride in watching them grow through the years.
He was a proud Hawkeye and Warrior fan who loved cheering on his teams whenever he could. Some of his happiest moments were the simple ones—spending summer days with his grandkids, sitting around bonfires, going on bike rides, and playing baseball in an empty lot. He appreciated life’s little traditions, like sharing popcorn and chocolate stars or relaxing with a light ice drink, always happiest when surrounded by the people he loved.
Family meant everything to him. He never missed his grandchildren’s events or sports games and was always there to support them. He was known as everyone’s “best friend” because of how easily he connected with others. His great personality and favorite saying, “it is what it is,” showed how he approached life with acceptance and strength.
He was a hardworking man who spent 60 years as an international pipe machinery salesman before retiring. He took great pride in his career, earning awards such as Salesman of the Year and traveling over 5 million miles by air. He also enjoyed traveling outside of work with an annual trip to the boundary waters and sharing his love of travel with his grandchildren, taking them on memorable trips to places like New York and Colorado.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and constant support that will never be forgotten. His grandkids will miss his lifelong advice that when in trouble try to talk your way out and if that doesn’t work, call Grandpa.
He is survived by his children: Todd (Lynette) Schriever, Troy (Cindy) Schriever, and Rhonda (Dan) Neal; his grandchildren: Megan (Dan) Dorr, Benjamin (Madison) Neal, Andrew (Courtney) Schriever, Brooke (Weston) Engels, Samantha Schriever, Alex (Payton) Schriever, and Austin Schriever; great-grandchildren: Vivienne, Hallie, Hank, Henley, & Estella; and his siblings: Larry (Carol) Schriever, Danny (Rhonda) Schriever, and Nancy Schriever. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his loving wife Bonnie Schriever; parents, Benjamin and Genevieve Schriever; infant grandson, Brandon Neal; and brothers & sister, Dennis Schriever, James Schriever, Gary Schriever, Majorie Swedberg.
