United Way of North Central Iowa to Host “Rise and Shine Relay” Thursday May 14

United Way of North Central Iowa is inviting the community to start the day with fun, teamwork, and community spirit during the annual “Rise and Shine Relay” on Thursday, May 14, at the Mason City High School Fieldhouse.

The event begins at 8:30 a.m., with team registration opening at 8 a.m. Participants will compete in teams of five, navigating a lighthearted obstacle course while riding tricycles in what organizers describe as a fun and energetic competition.

Organizers say the Rise and Shine Relay is more than just a race. The event celebrates the success of United Way’s past fundraising campaign and highlights the impact local nonprofit partnerships continue to make across north central Iowa.

“This event is a great way to bring people together, celebrate what we’ve accomplished, and highlight the important work happening through our partner programs,” said Jen Arends. “It’s fun, it’s energizing, and it’s all about community.”

Community members, businesses, and organizations are encouraged to participate, support teams, and connect with nonprofit agencies serving the area.

The Rise and Shine Relay is supported by Sukup, Wayne’s, Servpro of Mason City, Pritchard Family Auto Stores, Good Shepherd, and Chick-fil-A.
