Dawnett Willis joined Community Conversations to discuss a landmark legal victory for Floyd County Medical Center following the Iowa Supreme Court’s decision to uphold a major estate gift intended to help establish expanded oncology and cancer treatment services in Charles City. Willis shared details on the nearly five-year legal process, how the hospital has already been preparing for future oncology services through its current expansion project, and what comes next as planning begins for the future cancer center. She also highlighted the hospital’s upcoming ribbon cutting and grand opening celebration set for July 18.

When he’s not busy butchering ‘80s power ballads, Chris enjoys starting overly ambitious home projects that rarely make it past the “great idea” stage. He lives in Charles City with his endlessly patient wife Vicki and their kids, Brynlee and Jaxon, who have already perfected the art of the eye‑roll every time Dad cracks another “dad joke.”
