Charles City Feel Good Show Auditions Happening Wednesday (5/27/26) at the Charles Theatre Ahead of July 4th Variety Show Celebration

Jayne Stowe and Diane Souder joined KCHA Community Conversations to talk about the upcoming “Feel Good Show” variety show planned for Saturday, July 4th at the Charles Theatre in downtown Charles City. The patriotic community event will feature music, comedy, dancing, magic acts, puppets, and more as part of America’s 250th birthday celebration. Auditions are happening on Wednesday May 27, 2026 at 5PM at the Charles Theatre, with organizers encouraging performers of all ages and talent levels to participate.

The Feel Good Show will take place Saturday, July 4th at 4PM at the Charles Theatre following the Central Park band performance. Admission will be by free will donation, with proceeds supporting future performing arts efforts in Charles City. Rehearsal is scheduled for July 1st at 5PM. Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City, which basically means he’s been corn‑fed and radio‑bred since day one. As a kid, he was always caught singing along to the radio — and while he’ll tell you he’s great at karaoke, let’s just say the audience’s ears often file a noise complaint. When he’s not busy butchering ‘80s power ballads, Chris enjoys starting overly ambitious home projects that rarely make it past the “great idea” stage. He lives in Charles City with his endlessly patient wife Vicki and their kids, Brynlee and Jaxon, who have already perfected the art of the eye‑roll every time Dad cracks another “dad joke.”
