17-year-old reported missing in Cerro Gordo County

MASON CITY, Iowa — Authorities are asking for the public’s help locating a missing 17-year-old.

Akira Braiden McMillan was last known to have contact with others on May 29, 2026, according to the Iowa Missing Person Information Clearinghouse. McMillan is described as a white male, 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing about 120 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes.

Anyone who has seen McMillan or has information about his whereabouts is asked not to take action themselves. Instead, officials say people should gather as much information as possible, including the exact location of a sighting, vehicle information or details about what the person was doing.

Information may be reported to the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office in Mason City or to the Iowa Missing Person Information Clearinghouse through the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation at 515-725-6036.
