Tom was born on May 24, 1961, in Houston, Texas, to John “Jack” and Maxine (Hebel) Daily. He graduated from Northbrook High School in 1979 and attended Sam Houston College, where he studied agriculture.

Tom’s life changed forever when he met Kristie on a blind date. Just six weeks later, they were married, beginning a loving partnership that lasted nearly 36 years. Together they welcomed two children, James and Amanda, who became the center of Tom’s world.

The family later settled in Belmond, where Tom built a successful 25-year career with Iowa Select Farms. He then earned his CDL and spent three years driving truck for New Coop, a job he greatly enjoyed.

Tom was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose greatest joy came from caring for his family. He rarely missed a sporting event, school activity, or milestone in his children’s lives and took immense pride in their accomplishments. He recently welcomed his granddaughter, Rikki, who brought him great happiness.

He loved traveling with Kristie, James, Amanda, and close friends, creating cherished memories on cruises and vacations. Some of his favorite destinations included Branson, Hot Springs, and Texas. He especially enjoyed being outdoors, whether boating on Clear Lake, fishing for bass, or simply relaxing in the sunshine.

Anyone who knew Tom knew of his pride in maintaining a beautiful yard. He enjoyed flowers, trees, and spending hours perfecting his lawn. He was proud to earn recognition as Belmond’s first Yard of the Month recipient. In recent years, he could often be found cruising around town in his golf cart, admiring neighborhood yards and visiting with friends.

Tom will also be remembered for his strong work ethic, honesty, quick wit, and loyalty. He loved music, concerts, his favorite television shows, and spending time with the family dogs, Ozzy and Brandie. He had a warm heart, a sharp sense of humor, and a way of making those around him smile.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Kristie Daily of Belmond; son James (Lauren) Daily and granddaughter Rikki of Osceola; daughter Amanda (Abraham) Duran of Fort Dodge; brother John (Tom) Daily-Kirkdorffer of Conroe, Texas; sister Theresa (Bob) Jones of Montgomery, Texas; along with many extended family members, friends, and loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John “Jack” and Maxine Daily, and his in-laws, Alvin and Doris Henley.

Tom’s legacy of hard work, devotion to family, friendship, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
