NIACC’s Thurlby Earns NJCAA All-American Honors

MASON CITY — NIACC freshman pitcher Chloe Thurlby has earned third-team NJCAA Division II All-American honors.

Thurlby, a left-hander from Bondurant, is the first pitcher in school history to earn NJCAA All-American honors. She is also the fifth NIACC softball player overall to receive NJCAA All-American recognition.

Before Thurlby, the most recent NIACC softball players to earn All-American honors were Katy Olive, a first-team infielder, and Madisyn Kelley, a second-team catcher, during the 2024 season.

Thurlby went 23-12 with a 2.68 earned run average during the 2026 season. She set a single-season school record with 228 strikeouts while walking 61 batters in 209 1/3 innings pitched.

Her 23 wins rank second on NIACC’s all-time single-season list. The school record is held by hall of famer Jennifer Spencer, who went 28-8 in 1994.

Thurlby was also a first-team all-NJCAA Region 11 selection.

A total of nine ICCAC players earned NJCAA Division II All-American honors, including five first-team selections.

First-team ICCAC honorees included pitchers Kierra Jungers of DMACC and Lilly Trewin of Kirkwood, catcher Mischa Reiners of Kirkwood, infielder Breckin De La Rosa of Kirkwood and outfielder Macee Reiling of DMACC.

Iowa Central infielder Natalie Rasmussen was named a second-team All-American, while DMACC’s Morgan Neuroth and Mackenzie Muhler were third-team infield selections.
