Lake Mills Man, 68, Charged with Intent to Deliver Meth After Mason City Traffic Stop

MASON CITY — A Lake Mills man is facing a felony drug charge after a traffic stop near a Mason City Walmart turned up a stolen vehicle and methamphetamine, according to Cerro Gordo County Jail records.

Michael John Roberts, 68, was booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail around 8:45 p.m. Saturday on a charge of intent to manufacture or deliver methamphetamine, more than 5 grams but less than 5 kilograms, jail records show.

Law enforcement pulled over a vehicle on Indianhead Drive near the Mason City Walmart, according to investigators. The vehicle had been reported stolen, authorities said.

During a search, investigators said they found a clear plastic baggie containing a substance believed to be methamphetamine in Roberts’ possession.

Roberts is being held in the Cerro Gordo County Jail on a $25,000 cash-only bond.

The charge is merely an accusation, and Roberts is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
