Northeast Iowans Injured, Cedar Rapids Woman Killed in Head-On Crash Identified

Authorities have identified the three people from Northeast Iowa who were injured and an 81-year-old woman from Cedar Rapids who died in a two-vehicle head-on collision Monday (07.27) morning in eastern Iowa.

The Iowa State Patrol says the crash occurred shortly before 10 AM Monday along Highway 52 in Dubuque County. 81-year-old Margaret Bockenstedt was heading north in a Ford Escape when her vehicle crossed into the southbound lane and hit a Ford F-250, driven by 51-year-old Bob Blake of Decorah, near the intersection with Double J Lane. 

Bockenstedt died at the scene. Blake and two passengers in his pickup, 26-year-old Cody Dostal of Ossian and 22-year-old Jeremy Andera of Cresco, were taken to MercyOne Dyersville for treatment of minor injuries. 

Also assisting at the scene were the Dyersville Police Department, Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office, Dyersville Fire, New Vienna Fire, Bi County Ambulance, Iowa DOT, Dubuque County Medical Examiner and local towing services.
