Mason City Police Host National Night Out Tuesday at Mason City Arena

MASON CITY, Iowa — Communities across north Iowa will host National Night Out events Tuesday, including a gathering hosted by the Mason City Police Department at the Mason City Arena.

The Mason City event runs from 5 to 7 p.m. at the arena, 111 S. Washington Ave. Admission is free.

The Mason City Police Department said the event is designed to strengthen partnerships between law enforcement, first responders and the community. Attendees can meet local police officers and firefighters, according to the department.

Planned activities include free food, giveaways, law enforcement and fire department vehicles, community resource tables, balloon animals, a bounce house, spin art, face painting, superhero appearances, a seat belt convincer and root beer floats from Birdsall’s.

National Night Out events are also planned Tuesday evening in Lake Mills and Belmond, as well as in Forest City, Hanlontown and other north Iowa communities.
