City of Mason City to Flush Hydrants in Northeast Quadrant Sept. 16-25

MASON CITY — The City of Mason City Water Supply Division will flush water mains in the northeast quadrant of town from Wednesday, Sept. 16, through Friday, Sept. 25, according to city officials.

The flushing will take place in areas east of Federal Avenue and north of Highway 122, the city said.

Water customers in that area may notice discoloration during the flushing period. Officials said the water remains safe to drink, but they advised caution when doing laundry, as discolored water may cause staining.

The city is also asking residents not to park near or across from fire hydrants during the flushing period to ensure safety and efficient operations.
